The process for creative services varies according to the client's project. In solving creative problems, I've conceived a framework that maps out my approach. 16-24 weeks is typical for brand identity. If it's a custom typeface, a stationery suite, or a logo, then the timeline can be modified from the phases outlined below:

1. Consultation (1-2 weeks) I introduce the brief and gather information on your vision, design aesthetics, and inspiration. From there, we'll determine whether we need to commission photographers, illustrators, stylists, vendors or web developers for the project.

2. Research, Insight & Narrative (2-3 weeks) My goal is to learn more about the project through personal research and exploration. Initial moodboards, written content and drawings begin to form the brand story. This phase is designed to build a solid foundation for the next one.

3. Concept Development (2-3 weeks+) After distilling my insights into a clear narrative, I present several concepts so we can have a conversation about the best path forward. A strong concept is essential, as it informs the creative decisions that follow.

4. Creative Development (4-8 weeks+) Guided by a clear concept, I begin drafting mockups, creating several versions to arrive at a complete, well-thought-out visual. The order of design usually starts with the logotype and symbol, followed by the brand collateral. We’ll schedule check-in days to review progress.

5. Review and Refine (2-3 weeks) When mockups are ready, I invite the client to review the work so that we can collaborate, refine the details and hone in on the final iteration. We will stay in contact and continue making adjustments until everything is just right.

6. Approval (1 week) At this juncture, we will approve and sign off on all materials before moving into production.

7. Printing & Production (3-4 weeks+) Now we prepare to realize the project - ensuring communication with partners, vendors and printers is clear and taking shape as intended. Allowing for ample printer lead and proof time is vital in this phase.

8. Delivery (1-2 weeks) The brand collateral is ready for shipping or any finishing assembly before delivery.
